Welcome to AGSH. A wargaming blog dedicated to my Dad and the world's most noble hobby; collecting toy soldiers. Here toy soldiers clash in great battles from scales of 3mm to 54mm. Also the historical records of the imaginary states of the 6mm Republic of Prussia, the Kingdom of Aksum, the Principality of Huack, the Khedivate of Turkoslavia and the Duchy of Saxe-Huack.

"Truly it can be said of him, without count are his soldiers & beyond measure his might." - Prince Edward in reference to Lord Butler & his invasion force departing London for Mars.

WW2: Memoir '44 D-Day Landings Battle - Sword Beach

In remembrance of D-Day I wargamed out the Sword Beach scenario for Memoir '44. I commanded the British while leaving the AI to defend. It was a massacre for the British. Despite my best efforts of "chin chin" I am afraid that I failed my King and Country, at least if were British. :) Anyhow. it was a fun and quick game with heavy losses on both sides. On occasion I thought "Yes! We are going to get off this bloody beach and get some VP!" However it there was not much VP the Germans were willing to give tonight.

The action began on the British left and cascaded across the battlefield.
Initial deployment with the heroes of the Empire wading ashore.

Final outcome VP Germans 5 British 2.
