Welcome to AGSH. A wargaming blog dedicated to my Dad and the world's most noble hobby; collecting toy soldiers. Here toy soldiers clash in great battles from scales of 3mm to 54mm. Also the historical records of the imaginary states of the 6mm Republic of Prussia, the Kingdom of Aksum, the Principality of Huack, the Khedivate of Turkoslavia and the Duchy of Saxe-Huack.

The Westerness: The Dark Land of Ravenfell

The Dark Land of Ravenfell
Sigil is a purple banner with a perched black raven silhouetted by a white moon.  The Lord of Ravenfell is the necromancer Lokken.  He rules from his tower of the Black Skull. Ravenfell is bounded by the Black Forest to the East, the Hellfire Fens to the South, and the World Edge Mountains to its West and North.  There exists a small population in Ravenfell. They are greatly provided for and generally protected by their lord which grants him their loyalty.  However he is more feared than loved. The people live in deep fear of venturing from their villages, especially being outdoors at night due to the fell creatures that roam the country.  Some quietly believe that the village folk are kept by their lord as as food for fell creatures.  Lord Lokken is a follower of Mhorgoth the Dark One. He is second only to Nekash in Mhorgoth's favor.

SF Falcon & Lt. Dmitri Britonov

Krozny, Karakistan, (AP): The advance elements of the 1st Combat Brigade of the Prussian Defense Force arrived in Krozny today aboard Russian Air Force military airlift flights from Koenigsberg, Prussia.  Prussia provides combat forces in Karakistan as part of it's commitment to it's major ally Russia.  Pictured below are members of Strike Force Falcon, part of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Combat Brigade.  The current deployment cycle of Prussian Army forces in Karakistan is for 2 years.  SF Falcon is moving out from the airport in Krozny, making their way south to Camp Condor, the Prussian Army base in Southern Karakistan.  SF Falcon is led by 1LT. Dmitri Britonov.  As you can see from the picture the PDF has abandoned it's former field gray uniforms for a more modern camouflage.  Note the Prussian flag patch on the leading soldier.

Strike Force Hawk Returns Home

The 3rd Combat Brigade has ended it's tour of duty in Karakistan and has been replaced by the 1st Combat Brigade.  Strike Force Hawk returns home following an intense 2 years in Karakistan.  Their last year under Lt. Wallowitz proved routine and everyone was glad to be home alive. Taking the place of Strike Force Hawk will be Strike Force Falcon under the command of Lt. Dmitri Britonov.  More to come on the 1st Combat Brigade and SF Falcon.

Map of the Republic of Mafeking

The Mafeking Republic located in Southern Africa between Botswana and South Africa.  Each political faction areas are indicated, HNP for the Heinlein Nationalists, MNF for the Mafeking Nationalist Front and the southern area controlled by the Mafeking government in Duharrare.  President Mukofos government in Duharrare is propped up by South Africa, a former enemy but now close friend.  The MNF is supported by Venezuela, Cuba and China.  While the HNP of course is funded by Prussia and recognized as legitimate by Prussia and the Netherlands.  Recognition from Russia is dependent upon an HNP victory in the civil war.

Ancient States Campaign

The bug to start a classical campaign has hit me.  I've decided upon imaginary states to play in the campaign that way I can have a mix of several different factions.  Below is the campaign map along with the imaginary state and their historical equivalent.  The world is called the Aeyrth, the continent is Aeurope.  First campaign year is 300 BCE.  I am still in the planning phase of whether I want to go with 6, 10 or 15mm.

The Jovian Republic = SPQR
Varthage = Carthage
Aegypt = New Kingdom Egyptians
Graecians = Greek City States
Midia = Perisans/Assyrians
Vendush = Indians
Phittites = Sea Peoples
Auroks Barbarians = Gauls/Germans
Hibernian Kelts = Briton Celts
Yberians = Spanish Iberians

Campaign Map of Aeurope as of 300 BCE.

New National Assembly and Chancellor Elected.

Koenigsberg (AP): The Chief Counsel of Prussia Brigitta Olson swore in the new National Assembly today and a few hours later she welcomed the new and first female Chancellor of Prussia, Frieda von Moltke a descendant of the famous Prussian General.  Chancellor von Moltke was a dark horse candidate.  It was assumed that Conrad Hekel the former first Chancellor would win re-election easily.  Frieda put together a winning combination of ministers and won by the narrowest margin yet.

Chancellor Frieda von Moltke and the new Prussian Cabinet.
Vowing to continue with outgoing Chancellor Jaap von Huack's budget program she has quickly gained popularity and has announced her administration will set monthly budget expenditures.  She has promised the Defense Force further funding for the repair of infrastructure and equipment at home garrisons and overseas posts but stopped short of promising further military spending.  It appears her current military program will be to "make due." However events in Africa and Karakistan may quickly force her hand.

WWII: Four Games of Brigadier General.

My son came to visit me for my birthday and we took in four games of our "Brigadier General" Second World War miniature wargame rules.  10mm models on 50mm square bases played on a 3'x3' battlefield.  I think the "after action review" discussion from each battle was very enjoyable as we discussed our previous battle plans and tactics employed.

Final disposition of game 1.

First turn of final game.

Second turn.

Shooting starts with an element of French artillery causing a fatigue point on an element of German light armor.
