First Battle of Legatus Ancient Battles in May 2014.

Opening deployments.  Celts in the North, Romans in the South.

Celtic Warriors.

The IX Legion, 3rd Cohort.

Hundreds of soldiers.
Opening moves.

Roman Cavalry quickly takes out an element of Celtic Chariots.
Celtic Losses 1 (4 to lose the game.)

Roman Skirmishers push back Celtic Light Cavalry.

Roman Cavalry push back an element of Light Chariots.

End of 2nd turn. moves.

Celts gather their wits and push back the Romans.

The Celtic Cavalry disperses the Roman Skirmishers.
Skirmisher losses don't count towards victory or loss.

Light Cavalry within range of their Army General to Rally away a FP.

Roman Skirmishers charge and make short work of some Celtic Skirmishers.

Celtic Skirmishers rain slingshot down on an Roman maniple.

Legionnaires deploy and charge to assist the cavalry.

Roman Cav and Roman Legionairys push back the Celts.

End of turn.

Roman Skirmishers are dispersed by Celtic Cavalry.

The Roman line advances and on the left they take out the Celtic Skirmishers on the left.

The Roman maniple that was pulled out to assist the cavalry
in their fight pushes the Celts into the woods and kills them all there.
Celts: 2 (4 to loss)

The Roman Cavalry finally wins their contest with the last of the
Celtic Chariots. Celts 3 (4 to loss)

The far left maniple on the line surges ahead to take on the enemy.

Celtic Medium Cavalry pushes the Roman Heavy Foot back.

Celtic Cav pushes back the Roman Cav on the right flank.

Roman Heavy Foot pushes back the Celtic Warband.

Again the Celtics Warbands are being pushed back.

A throng of Celtic Warband is destroyed signalling the failure of
this great Celtic Army on the field.  Thats enough for a Roma Victor!

Rules require all current engagements to be played out. A draw!

Final outcome.
