Welcome to AGSH. A wargaming blog dedicated to my Dad and the world's most noble hobby; collecting toy soldiers. Here toy soldiers clash in great battles from scales of 3mm to 54mm. Also the historical records of the imaginary states of the 6mm Republic of Prussia, the Kingdom of Aksum, the Principality of Huack, the Khedivate of Turkoslavia and the Duchy of Saxe-Huack.

WWII: Navy Brings Back the Commodores

January 28, 1942
Commodore Admiral (07)
Washington DC (AP):  With the approval of the President and Congress, Secretary of the Navy Knox reintroduced the one star flag officer rank of the US Navy under the title of Commodore Admiral.  Presently there are 3 Navy Captains bearing the title Commodore and all will be allowed to retain it until either promotion, or retirement.  The new rank was to avoid consternation in the new unified US command structure.  Commodores will generally command flotillas, squadrons, groups and wings.
